Our Programs

Through our alliances with other community organizations, we want to impact the community by actively working together. By joining hands with local community leaders, social workers, teachers, lawyers, and health professionals, we help low-performing schools guide students to a brighter future. Our curriculum was created to be replicable and transportable, using simple, kid-friendly language, which makes it entertaining and educational for any organization anywhere in the world.

Early Education/ Literacy:

  • For many children, wealth disparities in our community prevent early exposure to reading and education. Research shows that reading to children at a young age (from 6 months to 5 years) has significant benefits. It not only builds parent/child bonds but also increases a child’s vocabulary, memory, and curiosity. When kids have positive associations with books and reading, their listening skills also improve.
  • According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children with early exposure to reading tend to excel in school compared to those who do not get this opportunity.
  • Before children even start school, activities like reading, rhyming, singing, and talking influence kids and help in early education and language development, acting as the foundation for learning.
  • Research by the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that one out of every three children starts kindergarten without learning skills.
  • Early education and learning skills development make learning to read easier for young students. When a child enters school after acquiring these skills, they have a higher chance of success.

Since 2016, we galvanize donors and community partners to donate to our book drive, enhancing the pre-k and kindergarten school experience. So far, we have collected over thousand books for our “My First Book” project. This year, since our schools are operating remotely due to the pandemic, we aim to collect even more books. (See our contact page for details on our next book drive).

High School Leadership Academy, Test Prep Project, and Goal-Setting

CAI Youth Leadership is a one-of-a-kind program that welcomes all students from various socio-economic, cultural, racial, gender, and religious backgrounds. These students bring their unique life stories and have the opportunity to meet, connect, share, and realize that they are not alone in their leadership journeys and desires to change their schools, their communities, and our world. Students may attend alone or with a group of friends, but by the end of their experience at CAI Youth Leadership, each student will go home with a new core group of friends to relate to and will live his or her best life. This leadership training aims to develop high school students into compassionate leaders through education and service, professional and career development, personality and character building, etc.

Test Preparation Assistance

We provide mentorship and assistance to help students excel in college entrance exams such as the ACT and SAT and gain access to technical schools.

Goal Setting in High School-

Our volunteers are professional men and women (paid and unpaid) who assist our students in goal-setting activities and are always there to teach the following:

  • The Importance of having goals
  •  How to recognize realistic and unrealistic goals
  •  How to develop short- term, medium-range, and long- term goals

Our non-profit organization follows a comprehensive and life skills curriculum to help students overcome obstacles that young learners often face. With this program, children will gain access to instructions covering more than 30 topics, including communication, respect, decision-making, coping, goal-setting, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.

Voter Education

We want the members of our community to be educated voters. Elections cannot be genuinely democratic unless voters understand the differences among the contestants to cast an informed vote.  Voters must also understand how to vote on elections day lest they risk missing the opportunity, have their ballot disqualified for being improperly marked, or face another issue that restricts or eliminates their ability to participate.  Information about electoral contestants and voting procedures should be made available well in advance of elections day.  Voter education campaigns, which might be conducted by the EMB or civil society organizations, should aim to provide all voters with the information they need.  Outreach to citizens with visual or hearing impairment should be conducted.  Information in minority languages should also be made available.  If information is only published in English, but large portions of the population only speak Spanish, for instance, then there is a risk that many voters will be unable to make informed decisions or know how to cast their ballots.

Other Resources – Food and Meal Distributions

Hunger is a significant issue, even in a wealthy country like the United States.  Hunger in the United States of America affects millions of Americans, including some who are middle class or in households where all adults are working.  In 2018, about 11.1% of American households were food insecure.  It is an even larger issue for senior citizens; thus, we offer food distribution and connect food distribution centers with seniors who may be experiencing food depravity.

Other Resources

  •  Food and Meal distributions

Our Primary Purpose:

  • We are providing books and educational resources so children can discover the joy of reading.
  • We are providing tutoring and early education support to unprivileged children who are struggling to read in low-performing schools.
  • We are gathering education leaders and organizations from all over the world and collaborating with them to share ideas.
  • We are bringing innovative technology, games, e-books, and locally-curated content together to advance the learning of children who are enrolled in low-performing schools in our communities. When children learn to read early, they often experience a lifetime of successes.  When we fail to engage them in early literacy, they often fall behind resulting unfortunate consequences (fights, school dropouts, gang activities, juvenile detention, incarceration and even death).
  • We are working as a community voice to promote the importance of early education and spread the awareness. We empower people to advocate for this cause in their communities.
